Thread: DD blade lenght question

Were there ever two different blade lengths for DD Special No 1 blades. I have two blades, one is 3 inches shoulder to tip and the other is 2 and 3/4 inches. If not there must have been a repair done on the short one.

Thanks for the info. OK so they do vary. I was just surprised that there would be that much variation on a standard 3 inch blade. My shortest is 2 6/8 and your longest is 3 1/8. You could almost assume a 1/4 inch +/- over a larger selection. Pretty loose tolerances in those days.

Yeah Bob, probably explains why I nicked my ear lobe with some of those when shaving ......

Yea, been a victim of lack of depth perception a few times meself.
