Wade and Butcher with a weird spine?
Or is it not weird and I am unfamiliar with these sorts of blades? Does anybody know if this some sort of reprofile or is the notch from the factory?
The cutting edge is in good nick, and I'm about to make some scales to replace the irretrievably warped horn originals. I have some carbon fiber lying around, but not sure if that will look lame.

Thanked: 4249Pretty sure your razor is missing a very important piece on the spine of the razor like this one!
Without that piece, you will never get the correct angle to hone the razor correctly.

There is a thread that speaks to figuring if a blade has the 'correct' geometry to be honed. The width of the spine and the depth of the blade go into the equation. Whether your blade was mistreated or made that way, if the geometry is within bounds maybe it could be honed as is. I don't know the formula or which thread it was in but maybe someone who does will be along.

Here is another one for sale on El-Bay - the broken blade is described as "very thin" and the spine: "the top of the blade is fancy and unique".

I see what you mean. You can really see it in the end view the seller provided. It is shot I'm afraid.
