Not the banana lol - that's for scale .

This is a follow up form this thread - http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...-review-5.html

The blades fit and finish are impeccable - no question about that, and the nice leather holder is a great touch.

Seriously - the thing looks like it was made in a factory! Not one thing on the blade is seemingly out of sorts. Moreover there is a seemingly perfect symmetry to the blade which leads to the matter of feel. Balance is extraordinary. I thought I would have anticipation using it but nope - it feels natural, and to tell you the truth, as soon as I am done typing this - I am giving her a go!

My only hesitation with respect to the blade and using it as a shaver, is the tail is relatively short and cuddles the finger firmly. I have never had a blade with such a shortened and curved tail that "cuddles" my finger so very well. It'll be interesting.

What more can I say? I really like it! Oh - it's a relatively wide blade, and that makes the scales seem wider too. It's a fair trade -off! Were the blade to be thin, being such a small razor, I think there would be no weight at all and the shave would suffer dearly. There are washers on the inside of the scales as well (though very thin) which is a nice touch but add to the width as well.

I am trying to be as balanced in my review as possible but gents - it just feels great - has nice balance and heft - I am stoked!!

I am off to give it a run across my face! Will report back soon!

Seriously - this is heart breaking! I took video of my first shave and I'll be danged if I can find it on the flash drive... arg!! All is not lost - I'll try again after using it for a while to give you guys a bit better of an idea.

Ok - so how did it shave!?

Seriously - I was originally terrified of the size of the thing - I love my shorties but this thing and it's smile spooked me. After holding it but once - no problem. And the short tail was great! Stropping it was no problem at all! None. So far so good.

Now this is a terrible thing to admit, but I have had some blades that have had steel that my face just couldn't stand. I feared this thing might be made out of some crazy steel that was going to be harsher than... Nope! Smooth as butter gents. The thing glided across my face with the greatest of ease. Lovely really! It feels like stainless to me! Moreover, no sting after with the alum! SWEET!!

You guys were right in that it gets into those places that I don't do so well without really focusing with a "normal" straight. But I have to admit it'll take a bit of time to get the idea of the smile down. It works great - but it's a new skill getting coverage with a smile!

I got to tell you - It's a beautiful day in KS, and as I type this drinking the mocha the wife picked up for me outside listening to the neighborhood kids playing - I am well pleased. I really like this little blade. The steal, the feel, the edge... all awesome. I would have no problem recommending you try one - at all.

I'll post again after I have used it a bit more - but I don't think this is just the "new razor" glow talking. This is a well made tool that did my face proud on it's first attempt. That's saying something!

Well neighbor - give me a little time with it, and maybe I'll send it off to you for a little testing of your own. I'll want it back though !

I've got to tell you David, that is one of the weirdest looking razors I have ever seen! That's not a smile, it's a great big GRIN!!!!

I'm really happy for you that the razor arrived and your first impressions are favorable. I hope you get many enjoyable shaves from it in the years to come.
