    I don't particularly care for the look but it has always fascinated me that the very early French razors have no monkey tail showing. I always look at them and feel like they forgot something.

    Some of those are the most beautiful razors I think I've ever seen. The ones with the heavily engraved blades are phenomenal. Thanks for posting this.

    Beautiful razors one and all Martin. The last picture looks like the blade is twice the size of the scales. Is that only an illusion from the angle of the picture? As said before, not my taste, but one can not help but admire the craftsmanship.

    Thanks for sharing! A couple years ago on ebay there was a beautiful early French razor, huge, with tortoise scales, similar to the 4th picture in the first post, but bigger and fancier. The seller had no idea what it was and was selling it in a junk drawer lot with really crappy pictures. Man, what a stumble.

    Some fancy razor indeed. The one that stands out to me is the ring end.
