Thread: TI Eagle Brand

I'm thinking about expanding my collection to include some TI razors. My question is should I go high or go Eagle Brand. The Eagle Brand at Knifecenter TI razors are more in my price range but since I have no experience with this manufacturer I thought I would ask if I should just get the Eagle Brand or spend a little extra cash for a Bijou De France. I'm mostly interested in their 7/8 size for no better reason then that I haven't shaved with a razor that large before. I think both razors look great but I'm wondering if the difference I'm seeing in price between the two lines is for a good reason.

AFAIK the only difference will be the etching on the blade. A TI is a TI no matter what etching they put on it. They use different etchings on the same model razor for different distributors.

IMHO if you go with the Knife Center razor you'll have to either hone it to shave ready yourself or send it out. If you go with Classic and specify that you want it honed, I believe that is extra, they will get it done. I'm not sure if SRD carries them. If they do they hone them at no charge and offer a free second honing when the time comes.

TI are some of my favorite razors though they sometimes run them out of there needing bevel correction. IME there quality control is uneven.
