Thanked: 4249W. Greaves & Sons unusual razor
I found this razor in a book on antiques from 1900, the picture of the razor is not very good but it clearly shows the razor with a swing arm attached to the scales, and three notch on the tang to lock the razor into position. Personally i would think this locking would get in the way of your fingers while shaving but nevertheless interesting.

Very interesting. I would love to hold one like that to see how it would feel in the hand.

Thanked: 3226Interesting and unusual find. Amazing how people like to invent solutions for nonexistent problems. Likely impractical as you say it just might interfere with your grip while shaving.

I cant see how that would be useful at all. But it would be cool to have one like it none the less.

It's funny that this just came up, I just saw a razor for auction that had what looked like a third pin put in, but now I'm wondering if it might be original with a different purpose:

That picture from the "Old Sheffield Razors" article by Henry T. Lummus, December 1922.
This picture is larger:
Full size.
I've seen similar razor, but couldn't use it, it was in the collection.Alex Ts.
