If it were mine, I'd simply have it honed and run it as it is. That appears to be honest wear and patina to me.

If you could get some clear close up pics of the pins, it would be easier to guess the age of the rework ( heavy on the guess ).

That is fine old razor and should shave you well for a LOT of years to come.

Yes, i was impressed with the condition and the very limited wear, and i am considering just leaving as is.

That's what I would do!!

Just get some artificial steel wool and some blue magic and polish it up and hone it and start shaving

would the steel wool get rid of the gritted devils spit, there are some spots that are elevated, i tried using my nails to grate it off.

IT will but there is an easier way that won't mar the finish.

Simply get a No 2 lead pencil and "write" on the rusty spots until it get smoother. Wipe it off when you're done and oil it.

The spot will still be dark but there won't be any more active corrosion.

No charge.
