Thanked: 1Rare type of razor
Hello!
I am looking the type of razor that appears in the photo. As you can see, the blade sticks out from the metal, what I find very useful to have more precision when you shave your sideboards.
If you know where I can find it online or if there are other better models for this purpose, please let me know it.
Many thanks for your help!
Regards,
Belce

That's what we call a Safety Razor.
You might want to look around at www.badgerandblade.com for starters...
This is more of a Straight Razor crowd.
They are easy to find and entry level used razors and new blades are inexpensive.
Good luck....Support Movember!

Thanked: 1Thank you for your answers.
I know it is a safety razor but what I am interested in is that the blade sticks out from the metal part, and that is not easy to find...
Anyway, I will write the post in the correct section.
Thank you!

Hi
Probably someone removed the bars that would have made that a safety razor.
You too can grind off the safety bars and turn a safety razor into a torture device like your example.

I have not used one...but does the Cobra (that uses the Feather style blade) have a leading edge/no Saftey bar profile?

Thanked: 247Nor have I, but I am almost certain that it does...and I am pretty sure it leads a bit further than the one in the OP. An untrained user should be able to do *almost* as much damage with a cobra as with a straight!
There is a lower bar on the cobra, but I am told it is well clear of the blade and it does not contact the skin during the shave....I could have received bad info. I actually thought the idea was a neat bridge between DEs and SRs.Last edited by unit; 12-10-2012 at 02:49 PM.

that thing is no "saftey razor"..... it looks as though there's no guard on the bottom. that thing looks like it will dice a face to pieces when using a de stroke. stick to a straight, thank us for telling you later. :-p
