Default Australian Magnetic Damascus...and whatever else

I received this for honing the other day and hadn't seen one before--

I guess I wasn't aware of any big vintage Australian razor industry -- but this is a wonderful razor (I love a natural smiling blade) and shaves "like butter".

Any thoughts about it's true origin?

Dunno but I bet our Australian brethren are going to be hot and bothered when they see that one.

Good looking razor but I am almost willing to bet it was not made in OZ but somewhere else using Ozzy steel. They export quite a bit ore/steel.

Makes sense. I thought it just might be a situation where they called it "Australian Steel" just to give some basic Sheffield stuff a little cachet, Like "Finest India Steel" or something.

Yea, that could be too. Interesting little mystery you've got going with that one.

Goins lists an "Australian Sneth Steel, 1920-1940, but that is all!

    I rest my case.
