Question about Robert Williams razors...
While looking around this site I came upon a Robert Williams thread and ended up checking out his site and links that lead me to the ShavingShop.com where I found Henckels Friodur high carbon stain resistant, cryogenically hardened razors with Robert Williams custom handles. My question is would these be in the same league as his custom made blades or is it worth the wait to order one of his custom made pieces ?
Thanks in advance for your advice.

Hey, Donut.
The only part of the shavingshop Friodurs that have anything to do w/ Robert's work - are the scales. The blades are Friodur - which, btw, are wonderful shavers. If you like a razor that large, they're superb. For a razor made by Robert, the SRD special is probably the lowest cost Williams blade. His steel is quite hard, takes wonderful edges, gives a bodacious shave. I'm fortunate to have two from Robert with an SRD special on order. 'Can't wait.
There are others that have more experience w/ his blades (maybe Jimmy and Birnando can weigh in).

No they are not 'in the same league' as Robert's customs. They are factory made blades. Good razors but not one off hand made by one artisan.

Question about Robert Williams razors...
As stated above, Robert's razors are hand made works of art and well worth the wait. The 8/8 Friodurs are grest shavers as well.
Fortunately I have a few of each, and like both, but for pure looks and enjoyment, the RW's is my preferred choiceBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....
