    Default Boker I.D. help?

Hello Everyone. My name is Rick and I'm new here.

I've always been fascinated by the art of straight razor shaving and restoring and I've wanted to get into it for some time. Recently my Fiancée nudged me a bit by getting me a Boker for a gift. The blade and scales look like they could use some lovin' but nothing beyond what I think I can handle. However, I can find nothing about this blade on the net. I've been searching for days and I can't get anywhere. I've seen hundreds of photo's of King Cutters, Red Injuns, and countless other blades but nothing etched like mine. I can't even guess the age off of the Boker tree logo changes. Maybe someone here can help me out? Thanks.

Thank You! She certainly is a darlin'. I love the blade too. I just hope it turns out to be something I can use and enjoy.

I see no reason it can't be something to use and enjoy. Great wife and NICE razor!

Do your research, get your razor honed by a pro the first go around, watch as man of the vids as you can stand of guys shaving, and give it a go.

Above all, TAKE YOUR TIME learning to use one of these things. The learning curve is a bit steep but by no means insurmountable.

It will no doubt need a honing, I'd send it out to a pro for that. I dont know your experience with straight razor shaving, but i would read the beginners guide on the main Page if i were you. It will guide you in the proper direction. My advice is to read as much as you can on here.

The scales look to be bone and the blade frost looks great! An old one, for certain, I don't see Germany on it, just Solingen. Nice!

See if you can match up the logo to one of these and get a close date. I would guess the second one?

In the link that TrilliumLT posted your Boker tree looks like the 1900 one.
