Filarmonica 12
I have recently bought a Filarmonica 12 and just wanted to post a small review of my first shave with it.
It's incredible! Since it was just honed and stropped it shaved like a hot knife cut through butter. Absolutely no nicks, no razor burn and in 2 passes I had a baby smooth skin!
I didn't think I'll like the hollow blades, and yes they're really loud while shaving, but they do so while taking a whole lot of hair off.
I was actually really surprised how non damaging to my skin the shave was. Even Osage Rub, that usually stings like crazy but I barely felt anything at all!
Anyway, I am sold on Filly's and will be now looking to try to purchase 2 Filly 13s. Preferably NOS. So if you know where I can purchase those, please let me know! (other than Classifieds and eBay that is)
Thanks.

They can still be found in NOS out there, although not quite as readily as before.
I'm afraid you are not alone in the hunt for them, so don't expect too many good sources or tips in here on how to find themBjoernar
Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years....

Whats NOS? I have been wanting one of the filarmonicas but haven't been able to afford one yet. The ones I have seen are well over 200 bucks at the least.

Thanked: 884NOS is the abbreviation for NEW, OLD STOCK. In other words something made a while back that has never been sold or used.

Gotcha, Well I am still hoping to find a few. There are currently several posted on eBay for well over $500 which seems rather high.
Can you guys comment, are there any other shavers that are as smooth as fillys?

There are hundreds of brands out there that will give stellar shaves.
A Filarmonica is a lovely shaver, I have a whole bunch of them, but a proper Swedish, German or British vintage razor will serve you just as well.Bjoernar

I haven't shaved with a Filly yet, but in my opinion, the bigger C.V. Heljestrands are top tier shavers.
