Thanked: 116Torrey's go like hotcakes here and on ebay and a vintage razor from a well-respected manufacturer will rival any of the new-production straight razors. Let us know when you make up your mind and please share pictures!

Thanked: 25Well the Torrey was a no go. After further inspection, there was a small chip in the blade I hadn't noticed before and some patina on the blade that looked to hide some decent pitting down close to the shaving edge.
The Shumate also had some patina and pitting/rough spots and the sharpened edge of the blade as well as heavy wear marks on the spine from some serious honing over the years.
The Bowdin was about the same as the Shumate, but my main concern was that it was labeled a wedge but appeared to be at least half hollow ground. If that was done after manufacture I worry that it could have in some way distorted the temper.
I'm going to check one more store this afternoon, but it appears I may just bite the bullet so to speak and order a new Dovo straight away. Although I will keep you guys posted as to what route I take and pictures will always follow, and I appreciate all of the helpful information y'all have given me in my time thus far on these forums.

Good luck!
I would still suggest buying from a member here in the classifieds before going new; but either way, I'm sure you'll be happy.
