Thanked: 0new MOP Dorko?
I just checked out a Victoronox store and they had a mother of pear scales but looked like a newer dorko blade. The scales look nice and I believe are old but can't really tell. The place is going out of business so I can get it for a good price I think. Do you guys know if dorko made newer blades with real MOP

Dorco hasn't made straights probably in 25 years or more. They are a Chinese outfit now anyway. If it has real MOP it's an old blade.

Thanked: 480I was under the impression that some guy had purchased the rights to the Dorko name, and had started new production. True or not, I dont know, buteven if it is, I certainly wouldnt bet money on the blades being the quality of the old ones.

Is it branded Solingen ? If it isn't I'd pass on it. IME the fancier Dorkos had spine work and/or fancy etching on the belly of the blade. Also if there is any emblem on the scales than they probably aren't genuine pearl. The real stuff was too hard to put on emblem on AFAIK.

I have only seen Dovo razors at Victoronox stores. As Dovo's they have horn, mop & other and are seriously overpriced.

Thanked: 480New Dovo blades are not all that bad. Do a quick internet search to see what that model sells for online. If you can get a good bargain on the sale, I say go for it!
