Unfortunately, it seems the honing job may not have been as good as it could have, and I'd hate to send it out again. From the middle to the heel is good and keen, though from the middle out to the toe, not quite so great. Led to a pretty sub-par first shave...kind of disappointing. I do have some of the Thiers Issard paste coming on Thursday. I'm hoping that will bring out the edge on the toe end. It's not dull, but just uneven across the blade and I really hope the paste can fix me up.

Brought it up to par! I got my TI paste in the mail today and figured I'd give it a go on my newest razor since the hone job wasn't the best...figured it couldn't hurt to try the paste. It took a while of paste/crox/IrOx/strop then test. Did the rounds of that 3-4 times (yes it did take a while), but it shaves amazing now. Almost as good as my dovo, it could use a bit more work, but still very acceptable.
So apparently this paste works pretty good, and it lets me enjoy the newest razor addition.Classic, traditional Barber and owner at Barber's Notch in Brigham City, Utah.

My two Keen-Kutters are excellent shavers.

One of my favorites at this moment,
a 6/8" pre-KeenKutter Simmons.
Doesn't say where it was made,
so before 1891?. Correct me if I'm wrong.
A flea market find. Quick touch on a
B-hone & stropped, it shaves well.

E.C. Simmons started out in Sheffield if i remember right. I have some Keen Kutter's & they are astonishing. I have one Keen Kutter that is mint & dressed in Ivory scales. I'll find it & post a pic.
