This is the first of several razors that I recently inherited. I am no authority on these so I am hopeful that I can get some information from this group that will help me. I am especially interested in finding out when this razor was manufactured. The inscription on the tang reads:
JOSEPH RODGERS & SONS
CUTLERS TO THEIR MAJESTIES
No. 6 NORFOLK STREET
SHEFFIELD
To the left of the title, there is a Maltese cross and a star. The scales look like dark horn or bone. This razor came to me in a case which reads: A.G. Allen - Boston
The former owner lived his entire life in the state of Massachusetts in the greater Boston area.
