Thank you everyone for all the helpful information and such a fast response. This is why I love this forum!
One last question for you guys... well maybe two...
    1. Should I unpin the scales from the razor?
    2. How can I get into the impressions for sanding? (I'm thinking mostly about how I'm going to get into the Electric logo..)

In this case I would unpin the scales simply because there is so much active rust to deal with and it appears to occur under the scales at the pivot. Tough to tell from pics though, so if it is clear to you that there is no rust under there, then consider not unpinning them. If you do decide to unpin, be careful! Those are such interesting scales it would be a shame to mess them up.

For the rust in the logo - try a q-tip with metal polish. It's surprising just how much rust & crud that can get rid of.

It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.
