Roberto you always post the most interesting old blades, where do you primarily find them?

Thanked: 3164Hi Roberto,
Any chance of a few more pics of the tang stamp - it looks a bit like an 'M' rather than an 'H' for the surname.
Chances are the original scales would be made from horn.

Neil

Thanked: 3164It looks like an 'H' now, thanks!
Could be 'Harrison', but there does not seem to be enough letters - the 'A' looks a bit mis-stamped, though, so it might incorporate or obliterate an 'R'.
There are a few Harrisons - in the 1780s in Campo Lane and Hollis Croft, Sheffield, in the 1820s/30s at the Norfolk Works, as well as others.
Further discussion isn't really pertinent, though, until we know what the tang actually says!
Regards,
Neil

I prefer take it easy, and , nevertjheless i´m going to clean the hole of the letter with acid (is quite useful),, really i can onli have some doubds around the last one, the rest is simple for me, one H, one O with rubish into, one U another O clerly an a pssible N. around the scales what about one similar of it? http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...ery-razor.html

A trick!
Sometimes when it's hard to read old stamps it can be easier if you press a piece of plastilina (kids stuff) in the stamp and then read on the plastic.
But your closeups are really good, I wish I could take pics like that!
