Welcome to SRP! When first getting started in straight razor shaving it is importent that you go at it properly equipt. This W&B would clean up nicely, and likely be an excellent shaver but IMHO this may not be the best 1st Razor. There are many threads around her that will answar all the questions you have as a beginner. These threads will also answer questions you didnt even know you had, which may be more importent to a good shave then what you have in mind at the moment. I personaly love W&B's but based on what your saying you should check out a new, shave ready model. Check out SRD. also check out the beginners section on the leftside bar of the home page. FYI i used some lingo in here on purpose. If you dont know what im talking about, search it in the search bar. That will be your new frieind for answering all your questions.
Lots of luck on your journey.

Thanked: 199Welcome! I would have to agree with Joe above, I don't think an ebay razor is really the best way to go for your first razor. You can check out the classifieds on here, or SRD for decent starter razors. You really do want a razor that has been honed by someone with experience so you get a good idea of what a properly honed razor shaves like.
As Joe stated, the "Library" link above if full of great information and resources for someone just starting out. Definitely spend some time in there!
Enjoy the site, and good luck! If you have more questions, feel free to post, you'll find there are many friendly/helpful people on here.

Welcome to SRP. Personally, I would pass on it, there are W&B's to be found in much better condition than that one. Picture #3 makes it look like the shaving edge has a wave in it. If you want to get started with straight shaving, don't make a bad first purchase. Do alittle more research here and ask more questions, that's what we're here for. I would recommend you stay out of the bay until you gain some more knowledge on what to look for in a straight razor. You may want to check the classifieds or Vendors' Corner to see what else is out there in better condition for comparable pricing.
Why doesn't the taco truck drive around the neighborhood selling tacos & margaritas???

Thanked: 334+1 to ReardenSteel's suggestion: look at the classifieds section here and the vendor's corner! Another alternative is to check out Larry's "sight unseen" deals over at whippeddog.com.

My fisrt razor, befor collecting them year after, was a filarmonica with a lot of devil holes...jejeje, my grandphather´s razor, he shown me how to clean and use the stone to prepar the blade (more or less) in my land this little damages were not sawn important, and people shave hemselvs with broken blades useing only the solve part. I was 16 y. o. my first hair faice, and use the razor were a simbol to be a man..jejejeje, the experience was horrible, bload and many many cuts, but after, i´m used to shave me with axels and never lost them. This W&B is 100% better than my fist one, good look and take care but is a quite good blade, (I prefer wedges..jejejeje)
