Muhle Straight Razor
Hi guys,
Being that RAD has sunken its teeth into me and my wife is already thoroughly bored of my antics, I thought I'd keep looking for/at razors
I've come across a German manufactured Muhle. At £59 it's a reasonable price for a new razor, about £10 cheaper than a dovo best quality.
My question is are their straights any good?
I'm not desperate to buy it, well I'm wanting to get another but the fiscal situation is a bit restrictive and the mid month report isn't inspiring.
It's just one I plan to keep in mind for a month or 2 down the line when I start to fill the mahogany cutlery box I found.
All opinions welcome. I've looked on here and can only find the Muhle DE's and online it's only the sales patter.

Hi guy's I really would like to know if anyone has had any experience. Although £60 is not a vast amount of cash another £10 would buy me a cleaned up vintage.
I like vintage but would like a diverse razor box.
It's not a gold dollar or Hong Kong £5 special but I've never heard of them before a search which peaked my interest.
Cheers

Thanked: 3164I have honed three of them - two OK the other warped and not so good. A little bit better than the Edwin Jagger and Cyril S Salter re-branded entry level Dovos in my opinion, but not really a very valid judgement because the number I've seen is so low.
Regards,
Neil

If not, I've got my eye on the Fritz Bracht! The wife actully rolled her eyes.
If all else fails and that Fritz sells before the month is up I may just get a best quality. It seems a decent enough razor.
I have just checked and the only UK stockist, shave shack, is out of stock anyway.
EDIT: Apologies, 2 replies close together.Last edited by DaveTheGeordie; 01-17-2013 at 12:43 AM.

It'll do for me until I find one worth gambling on. If you still don't have the Fritz at the end of the month I'll give a best quality a go.
Cheers for the advice.

I've not yet recieved my first lot of razors back from him but I have trust. A good tradesman gets a reputation for a reason!
I've got another 2 to send to him for 'the works' already.
Sadly they'll have to wait a month or so as we've just paid to have the house reglazed.
2 honed and one getting the treatment before a month off 'new razors'. He does have a nice looking dovo which I may talk to SWMBO about!
Apologies for the multiple posts above, a tired David and technology do not good bedfellows make.

Thanked: 8No razor experience with the brand but some color commentary. Muhle (no umlaut on my keyboard) is a Bavarian city famous for fine engineering. I have a Muhle Glasshutte watch that's terrific. Didn't know they did razors but google returned the shavers. There was a straight razor with the DEs but I didn't see a price. None of which, of course, has anything to do with whether the SR8 is any good. Based on the above comments, doesn't sound like a great investment -- or at least, great value.
