Thanked: 2baumann razor?
I hope you had an excellent shave this morning.
mods take pity I posted a very similar thread in the wrong section. Im just a man looking for an answer.
I have a question, what is the history of this razor? Internet has reveled nothing, so I was wondering if any of you had seen it before.
I found this baumann razor at an antique store and fell in love, you know the feeling! It has several markings on the shank and none on the blade.
P.S. has GERMANY stamped onto shank right above the pivot hole.
thank you!keep calm and mod on ALWAYS

Baumann Barber Supply co is listed in the Annual Report By Ohio. Secretary of State. So as with many of the barber supply houses they imported the razors.
I can't load the entire book but I think the date of incorporation is June 28 1909.

I could find Baumann Barber Supply Co. in Cincinnati Business Directory for 1913 and 1923.
And nothing about them in Directory for 1894.Alex Ts.

Thanked: 1Hello "Svinarich"!
I'm a descendent of the Baumann family that owned Baumann Barber and Beauty Supply in Cincinnati. I've been looking to locate some blades made by the company for some time - if you still have this razor I'd be curious to see if you're interested in selling it.
I don't know a much about the company - but I'm trying to find more out through living relatives etc.
Best,
Dave

You could, however post a WTB (want to buy) in The Mall forum. Perhaps someone has one that might be willing to part with it. Descendant buying would be a good motivating factor to part with one if I had one. The B/S/T (but sell trade) subforum has a sticky thread with rules listed which you should read to avoid a violation but it is not long or complicated. You just don't want to start off as a new member with a rule violation.
Good luck to you and welcome to the forum.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 11-26-2021 at 09:30 PM.
