Thread: Full Gold Tinted Blade

Hey! Just out of curiosity, because I think it would look awesome. Are there any high quality gold tinted razors out there. I've been looking around and haven't found anything but an $18 unbranded razor on ebay. Looked through the data base a little but that is a pretty large database and this may be easier! Thanks!

I don't know of any either, but I do know that I would give the Ebay one a miss - if it's the one I think it is (brand new one), you could set fire to your $18 instead and save on the postage!

There were quite a few vintage Solingen's produced with a significant amount of gold plating - Puma 'Golds' being the most famous. In NOS condition they're about as close as you'll get to a totally gold colored razor (that isn't a Chinese letter opener). Won't come cheap though!

If you're looking for a display razor just get any razor and have it gold plated. For a working razor gold wash ain't too durable. I can't imagine a fully gold washed one. I'm not sure how long it would last before the gold started to come off and then it would look terrible.

By the way I have never seen a fully gold washed blade.

Ok. That is probably the answer I need. I figured as much. But thought in would ask as in think it would look nice.
