based on the type and style of etching, stamped, not etched tang and style of the wedge i would need to concur with martin103, ca 1850-1860. I have seen these style wedges from W&B in period honey horn scales with collars, its a nice look if your looking to go period but still want something a little different then standard black horn. Also a nice emery satin finish would be original on the blade surfaces, try to avoid the temptation of a mirror finish if your looking to keep it looking original

That's some beautiful artwork etched into that. I wish they would put that kind of time & effort into today's razors.

I looked at the pics, nice razor, it will look great restored. I just have to ask a question though, did anyone look at the end pic showing the grinds both sides? Are they un-even or am I looking at this wrong? Please reply, all the threads on here have made me paranoid (in a good way) about razors in general. Thanks, and obviously the restored pics will be following, right?

Ok, I just looked again and got out the ol' magnifying glass. It must have been the way I viewed the pic. The shape is the same on both sides. Please pardon the newbie blunder (and don't forget restored pics).
