I have had nothing but satification in the honing that Matt Forget has done for me at the Sharpening Shack. He was my go to for my honing and restoration needs. All of my razors that I have featured here at SRP while I was in San Diego were restored and honed by Matt.

Thanked: 3226I have only bought 2 razors from 2 different vendors on this sight and both edges were excellent. I also had a razor rescaled on hone by yet another different vendor and the edge was excellent also. So that is 3 for 3 from 3 different vendors. I would think it would be hard to go wrong with any of the vendors listed on this site.
Another avenue to explore is finding a member in your area that will hone it for you to get you started and otherwise mentor you on straight razor shaving and maintaining the razor. The last time I visited San Diego was about 30 years ago with the Canadian Navy so I really don't know anyone in your neck of the woods. If you add your location to your profile and even ask for a mentor in your area you may get a response.
Good luck getting her up and running, she is fine razor and deserves good care. Just take your time, it will all come together.
