Japanese razors
I found some good sources for Japanese razors on Nassrasur.com and felt the urge to share it with you guys. Mostly in Japanese unfortunately. I once read about Google translation service but do not know where to find it and how to use.
There we go:
www.ehamono.com/zakka/kamisori.html
www.ehamono.com//zakka/kamisori-kiri.html
www.ehamono.com//zakka/kaneyoshi.html
www.ehamono.com/zakka/saheiji.html
www.ehamono.com/zakka/toumaki.html
www.ehamono.com/zakka/kamisori2.html
https://www.iimono-059.jp/ngc/catalo...shohinno=44817
www.munemasa.co.jp/english/1707-301.htm
Some of them are Kamisori by the looks of it. The last one is in English.
If your girlfriend or missus is too hairy, Japan has got the solution for ya:

And if you buy this razor you can chuck your hones (aim in my direction please!)

I'd rather keep my hones and spend the $310 (with a few more added to the mix) on a RW custom

Your first link describes the razors I have, a gift from a friend in Japan. There were in short supply as the maker was quite old and fogrd at his own pace, regardless of demand. The website now advises he is ill and was hospitalized and they have no stock of these on hand.
I will have to dive into the other links and see what is there.
Nice finds!

Kees,
I wish! I do read Altavista though <g> http://world.altavista.com/
Great translator program, type in text or enter a URL, choose your language and click "translate" !
I do read Japanese musical notation though for my shakuhachi playing.

If you investigate more fully I think you will find that except for the kamisori the others will be unavailable and if you can locate one they won't ship outside of Japan.

Japanese razors
Maybe Bill could make one for people to try out?
I realise the shaving technique would be different & I suspect they would be light as the Asians are not known for heavy facial hair!
