My first Thiers-Issard
I have recently rekindled my desire to straight razor shaving and I am hooked. I have been shaving with a Dovo that I am very happy with and it is a great shaver. I learned technique with it and I have learned a great deal about honing with it. I have been wanting a TI for a while now, and so today, it finally arrived. A brand new Theirs-Issard 5/8 half hollow Special Coiffeur. Right out of the box, I knew instantly that this was going to be my new favorite razor out of the two,,,,,,yes I also have another one on the way,,,,,,one I bought off of ebay,,,,,,,,,so possibly three razors I own. But when I first unwrapped it, and opened it up, I knew I was holding a fine instrument.
Any day there is blood on the floor and its not yours,,,,its a good day!

Looks like a great razor!! I have a number of TI's and they're great shavers, and among my favorite razors.
Congrats on your acquisition and enjoy those shaves!!

Funny you should say that,,,,,The night I purchased this razor online, I went to bed and had a vivid dream. You know how Budweiser always has hot sexy women,,the Budweiser girls,,,and how Hooters has Hooters girls,,, well I had a dream of the Theirs-Issard girls! They were wearing some hot little short black skirts and tight french type bustier tops!! They were hot!!
So anyway, yes I know, my obsession has gotten out of control.Any day there is blood on the floor and its not yours,,,,its a good day!

Whats missing with the new razors on the subject of craftmanship?
The one that I purchased was one of the entry level priced TI's. I figured for the price and quality of the this particular TI, I couldn't go wrong.Any day there is blood on the floor and its not yours,,,,its a good day!

There is a ton of uneven wear on the spines, the bevel on the front side is wider than the back side, many of the heels have been ground or broken off, etc. Your doesn't look ad bad ad many I have seen lately. Regardless, they are still nice shavers.
Have fun
