Thanked: 0considering a new ti
My first razor is a Dovo genuine buffalo horn 5/8 blonde horn. I enjoy it very much. Lately i have been considering a TI Sheffield silver steel blonde horn 5/8 to go with it. Both are beautiful straights and the Ti is a little less round on the end. Ithink they would make the perfect set for me however I have noticed some posts on here of quality issues lately with TI's. any suggestions? would be purchasing from cs. Hope i havent broken any rules. Thank you for any feedback. It is appreciated!

Thanked: 3I bought in December the TI Sheffield and Bijou de France. Both came honed and shave ready from the store. Very nice fit and finish. I am completely satisfied. I would not hesitate to buy another.

I've noticed the ill feelings toward the new production TI's also, but, personally I love the new TI's. I purchased 2 of the 6/8 Special Coiffeur, to make my own "Gentlemans Set". I couldn't be happier with the fit, finish, and shave that they provide. Just my own 2 cents.

Newbie opinion here (I have 2 TIs and only partial-shaved a couple of times with the Singing 6/8), but FWIW..., so far so good. I'm already planning on getting a Special Coiffeur 5/8 next month to start a rotation and I have a few more (i.e. 6 to 8) on my mid/long-term wish-list.
Cheers.

Thanked: 13245Honestly it was mostly the Scales that TI was having the issues with in the past...
When I bought mine I had every intention of putting custom scales on it and I actually had to, my scales were so warped it was pathetic, once I changed them out I like the razor..
Their edges from the factory are hit and miss, mine actually had an ok edge, except for the little rough spot once I re-honed it it shaves a lick..
Here is the proof

Take the worry off your mind and buy a Revisor.
You read here about problems with TI's & Dovos, you see them for sale in the classifieds.
Now go find me a person who has something bad to say about a Revisor and also show me one for sale...

I have a TI in my regular rotation. Great shaver and one of my favourites.

Thanked: 0Thank you for the input. I probably should consider this some more before purchasing for that price. Im not sure the brand means so much as long as the razor works well and looks nice for my set. Thank you all for the advise again!
