The Palmer Chicago
I picked one of these up a couple of months ago for cheap with the sole purpose of practicing my honing. While I was learning I got a decent edge on it and it shaved well so I left well enough alone and set it aside for a while. As my honing skills have increased drastically I have been going back through my collection and putting them through my hones to see how I developed. I got a Chorosa last week and it REALLY made a difference. Anyway as I was going through my collection to develop a feel for my Chorosa I got to my Palmer and gave it ago. Got a great edge on it and had absolutely the best shave I have had to date today. This is really a great shaving razor. It was also a breeze to hone as well. Anyone else have one of these?

No, but it's a good feeling to see yourself progress in honing.
Keep up the good work.

You are absolutely right Hirlau. It is really cool since I got that microscope and can look back on edges I set when I was starting out and compare them to the nice, smooth, shiny, and even bevels I can get now.

Thanked: 26I saw a Palmer on Ebay a couple of months ago. . . I wonder if it's the same one. I almost bid on it because my shop is on the same block as the Palmer House hotel, but then came to my senses. :-)

Palmers are very good razors, if in good shape you cant go wrong IMO.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain
