Thread: Who made it and when?

Where can I find a resourse to look up the makers of straight razors and when they were in business. I have a seven day set of W. Hawcrost & Sons "Renown" razors that I know are Sheffield, but I also have 17 others that I would like to research. Also does anybody else ever wonder when you are shaving who might have used this thing a hundred years ago and what was their life like? Pretty nice little pieces of history I think.

Hey Vern, I know on that wikipedia has info on dovo and they also have company history on their website as well. I dont think TI has their own website but you can google pierre thiers and it should give you some info on him and his company. I really dont know about the other companies, but Im sure one of the senior members will post and give more info. Nice to see another mississippian on here.
