Thanked: 20Is this a Sparticus?
In this thread:
http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...s-arrived.html
The OP shows us two of his beautiful new razors.
Is this razor:
Thiers Issard 11/16" Mirror Polished Carbon Steel Straight Razor | RoyalShave
a stripped-down version of BrandonPHX's Sparticus? I have no knowledge about this whatsoever, I only noticed a similar blade shape, blade width, and a common reference to an "extra heavy grind."
Full disclosure: I did not seek permission to use BrandonPHX's thread in this post - I hope this is not considered disrespectful in any way...

Joe, the one on Royal Shave's site looks to me like a "Super Gnome" but I may be wrong. TI has used the Spartacus etching on a variety of styles and razor points. I've got one old one (maybe 1930s) Spartacus with a round point, a silver steel with a modified barber notch TI calls a "Dreadnought point" and the same with the newer steel. So it is possible that they just took one model and spruced it up with the etching. TI also uses different names for the same model with different distributors AFAIK.

Thanked: 1I think the Royal Shave razor would be pretty similar. They are both 11/16" and have the extra heavy grind.
