Made my first razor purchase today...a Clauss
I bought this on Ebay today and wanted to ask you experts if you may know when it was made and what you think of the quality of these razors?
I appreciate any input you have. I am going to do a search on here to learn more if possible.
Thanks

I not sure how old this razor is but Clauss did made 2 different razors for the Marine Corps, 1st razor from around the time of the Spanish American War with U.S.M.C etched on the blade and the 2nd from around the time of WW I with U.S.M.C. stamped on the tang they look about the same as the one you have. I am also a Marine Vet. 26 years and live about 5 miles from the Main Gate at Parris Island your Son must be a Hell of a Good Marine to become a D.I. and train these new young Marines I think every Marine has the highest respect for His or Her D.I. I know there are 3 that I will never forget. Sorry I got a little off what you were wanting to know about the Clauss Razor I have both of the U.S.M.C. razors I use one or the other once a year on the Marine Corps Birthday and they both shave very good.

Thank You for the info Slamthunderide. Not to brag but out of the 96 Marines in the DI program my son is the top in his class and we are very proud.
He was a mortar man in the 1st Marines for 4 years and then worked on helos at New River for a couple of years and now he is about to become a DI.
My dad was a Marine in WWII and passed away in 2001. He would be damn proud to see him now as a Sgt. in the Corps.Last edited by ProudMarineDad; 02-22-2013 at 01:52 AM.

Not shaving related, but my brother went through Parris Island in the summer of 2011, and I attended his graduation there before a deployment (he's a Lance Corporal now). Impressive stuff to be sure, you have every reason to be so proud of your son. To ProudMarineDad and Slamthunderide, thanks to you and yours, its an incredible legacy that they are a part of, and I have nothing but the utmost respect for the Corps. They accomplish things that most of us can't even imagine.
GO AIR FORCE, and good luck with the new razor!
