    Default Gilbert Brothers

Can anyone tell me what is the purpose with this grinding ???? Is it made in production or is it made by someone else later.
It looks as it is only one side of the spine that was taken of. It surely can't be a decoration.

It is just for decoration. I have one that is half-slabbed like that myself

So it´s entirely a decoration and has no other function? I would say it looks like the forger went to the pub and then after a couple of pints said "That´ll do for this one.
May I ask another question? How is the shaving with Gilbert Brothers and they must be hard to hone properly.

Not knowing the brand in particullar, I am anticipating it is a fine razor, and that it shaves great.
It should not be any harder to hone than any normal smiling blades.
