Thanked: 28Hey there. Welcome to SRP, I was where you're at a couple of months ago. I have one piece of advice, don't go crazy on the razors if you already have a couple and you plan on getting the buffing wheels etc, make sure you have money left over to get all that stuff. I have a bench grinder sitting in my shed with no buffing wheels because I over spent on razors lol, gonna have to wait a while to get the wheels + buffing compounds it costs about 200 dollars all up to get all the diff wheels and compounds delivered to me. I also heard not to get them delivered in summer coz the compounds can melt or something.
Also you could try restoring by hand with wet dry paper as well you will find some very nice examples of people doing just that on this forum if you search around. You don't have to go all out with the buffing wheels etc. straight away, although once I saw another member clean up one of my razors for me on his buffer I was hooked lol =].
Anyways just wanted to say hi, oh and save some money for some hones too, I went with a Naniwa 3k 8k and a 1k and a Chinese approx12k stones to fit my budget, still waiting for my DMT to arrive they've been out of stock in Australia for ages for some reason.
make sure you post some pictures of ur progress on these razors too!, they look pretty good for your first couple of purchases ( i'm assuming you didn't pay too much for them =]) Have you got yourself a shave ready razor yet?

Thanks guys. Saitou, I payed $26 for the black scales Clauss, $13 for the Clauss with the engraved scales and $4.25 for the Shumate Tungsten. The last two were great deals I think.
