Can this Filarmonica be saved?
All ~
I have had this Filarmonica for about 25 years, and as you can see the blade has some damage. Especially worrisome is the vertical hairline crack that appears about 1/2" from the tip, right at 6 o'clock of the logo--which is visible in this picture:
I would really love to get this razor in shaving shape, also because it has sentimental value for me. However, I have no idea whether it can be salvaged or not. Could the more experienced users on this forum kindly help? Is there anything that a good restorer could do to make this old razor work again?
I very much appreciate any help!
Cheers,
Tom

The edge would have to be ground back past the crack but then in could be used.

As mackie said. You going to lose the harp but then you could have a nice little french point Filly.

Ah, grinding it from the point, rather than making the blade narrower. I hadn't thought of that--brilliant (shows you how little I know).
Would perhaps a Spanish point save the harp?

Thanked: 10whatever the solution will be, once restored, Im pretty sure it will become an excellent shaver. I have a Fillly and Im in love with her, I would never let her go. Besides it has sentimental value for you, so Im sure you will love it even more. You should ask Maximilian and sent him some photos. He has made outstanding restorations for many members here.
