    Default Japanese Straight (Takami)

Hi everyone, before I go and finalize my purchase is aframestokyo a reliable site? I've used the search button and seen people saying that they have bought it from Takeshi Aoki, but I just want to double check. If I'm spending a pretty penny I might as well get my money's worth.

Planning on buying a Takami Tamahagane once I get my paycheck on Thursday. Thanks for the help in advance.

I have asked him about some of his stock, and he said a few are vintage and some are new. I'm just making sure I get my money's worth since there are vendors are there who are shady crooks.

Has anyone tried the Takami brand?

I've ordered a 60mm Iwasaki Kamisori that should arrive this week Seemed very easy to deal with and shipped quickly. I'll hopefully be able to let you know more once I take delivery.

Sure friend, and take pictures of the beauty once you get it. I'm very interested in it and I'm debating if I should fork over my shiny penny for a beaut.

Edit: You got the Sweden Steel blade from him?

When's the estimated arrival? I'm just waiting to spoil myself, and I'll definitely take pictures as well. Too bad he doesn't have any more 45/50mm Iwasaki left since that was my original choice.

I got my Iwasaki from Takeshi as well. Went just fine, no complaints. I recommend removing the rattan though. Rust trap.

I have been curious about a Takami blade but don't see myself buying one now that I have an Iwasaki, Henkotsu, and Tosuke. If I bought a new one, I'd be tempted to grab a Kanetake (Takahashi). Or perhaps one from Bryan Raquin in France...or...

Lucky, I have to postpone it but I'm working it out with Takeshi. Have you had experience with Japanese razors in the past?

The handle cover you mean? A few sharp pointy objects is more than enough for me at home.
