Thanked: 0Puma razor so so wanted
Hey guys Mike again. I know there is another forum for something like this just trying to get the word out. I want a Puma razor rather badly. Does anyone have a Puma that they'd be willing to sell me or know of someone that may? I found these on e-bay Lynn told me the first one is just Okay condition and he could restore it to it's best shape for me but who just wants okay you know and the second one I just found give me some feedback or help guys please.

Thanked: 9Hi Mike
Um, sorry to say this but I am thinking about the second myself. I have several Pumas now but somehow I sold or traded all 3 of my 89s and now I want one again. It'll go high, too - just so you know.
Cheers
Ivo
ps For what it's worth, I have a 52 duplicate which I might pass along to you. 6/8 but had some spots, needs cleaning, etc. I have started hand sanding but still hours to go to get it in the nice shape that I like. In fact I got it cheap and won't be asking for much. 52 is my favorite model but I prefer to have one 52 and one 89 than two 52s.
Edit: forgot to say - I WILL NOT be paying $300 for that 89 - whoever is prepared to shell this kind of money for it - I hope he enjoys it

Thanked: 9Eh, just wanted to say I changed my mind.
I have several, you don't and you are a newb who really wants one. Very recently I was in your shoes, asking the vets to sell me one... I remember how it was
So I won't be bidding. I hope you win it and enjoy it as much as I enjoy my Pumas
Cheers

Thanked: 4942The second one is in much nicer condition, but definitely notice the hone wear on the spine.
Good Luck.

You have to remember that Puma is really at the top of the heap in vintage razors. I have 3 and they are really exceptional shavers all. You really have to be patient and lucky. Last year I got a really minty Puma Special 6/8s for $60.00 it looked like it had never been used. Sometimes its a bad picture or a bad description that will throw off other bidders. Just keep looking.

Thanked: 9Mike
I just received a message from the seller (I had e-mailed him before, when I first saw the razor, because he's in my area, and I had asked if I can pick it up if I won).
Anyway - he said the razor is 6/8 (I thought it might be a tad bigger from the pic). This would obviously matter in the bid, as a rare 7/8 would be worth much more than a relatively common 6/8.
This just FYI, as I said I won't be bidding
Cheers
