Default UK ebay cheap n nasty Enzo, Burgundy, Hawk razors

    Hi,
has any one attempted to sharpen and shave with any of these razors?
I'd be very interested to know know how it went and if they hold an edge at all.
They're priced from 10 to 30 pounds so I guess not much can be expected in terms of quality...

    Thanks

Do yourself a favour and save your cash.

They are all equally awful - poor steel, poorly made, can't hold an edge.

For new & cheap the Gold Dollars I've got will take and hold a good edge, and can be picked up for a few quid on the bay. The price is reflected in the quality control and they can need quite a bit of work to make it to shave ready. I've managed to get mine going after a while on a dmt 325 grit plate but I've heard of people having to step up to power grinding tools to tame them.

If you took your £30 to the classifieds here you can raise your quality expectations. I've picked up some really nice vintage, shave ready, razors around the £30-40 mark on the forums and there's a few in the price bracket atm.

I was looking for a decent razor in the 50-60 quid price range but they are proving damn hard to find.
The Dovo best quality was a candidate but they're as rare as rocking horse poo.
Many sites list then but non ever have them in stock
I actually need to purchase a few every month.
    Any other suggestions are welcome.
I've invested in a Norton 1k and 4/8k stones so I don't mind if they're not shave ready to start off with.

This is sound advice. Don't waste your money on cheap ebay razors. That's just money down the toilet.

Do never ever attempt to buy an Enzo England!! I bought one and it took me a long time to hone it and the edge is a total disaster.Still never shaved with it.Do not waste your money!!there are lots of vintage razors out there with the same ammount of money and they shave like a dream!!Especially if you are a beginner you will start hating straight razor shaving if you use these types of razors. There are lots of helpfull people on SRP that can help you.
