    Default Henckels Friodur Razors

    Hey guys,

I saw some Henckels Friodur razors on shavingshop.com and I was hoping you guys could advise me on whether they are good razors for purchasing. I've been debating between one of these or a TI razor. If some of you members have experience with this vendor and could recommend/discourage buying one of these Henckels blades, I'd love to hear from you.

    Thanks.

Henckels Friodurs are very good razors. They're made of stainless steel so you don't have to worry so much about rust, and they hold an edge a bit longer, but they also take a bit longer to sharpen.

No, they are not GOOD razors for purchasing, they are GREAT razors for purchasing

The Friodur is a top choice, I have three in 5/8 that I got off ebay and an 8/8 that I got from the Shaving Shop.

and The Shaving Shop is about the BEST place to buy a NOS razor.

Shaving Shop has the finest gear available, but some of that is because those are also the hyped razors. There are equally great razors out there that don't get as much press. I don't think I'm quite as comfortable with SS as I am with carbon, but that's just me.

The Friodurs are nice razors. I picked up one instead of a TI and love it.

I have a 7/8 Friodur and it's great, it's currently away on holiday in New Zealand though.

After I won a mint 7/8 vintage Friodur on ebay I was convinced. Very nice grind and accurate blade geometry, great workmanship, shaves great.
The new re-issue I bought didnt even come close, it was promptly returned. Both of the mint vintage blades Ive won on ebay were great, and cost substantially less.

I should receive my Friodur 8/8 square point this week from shavingshop.com and I'm really looking forward to it!

You can't go wrong with a Henckels Friodur. They are fine shavers. TI's as well are superior shavers. I have some of both that I would not part with.
