Thread: Japanese Straight razor

Hello esteemed members of SRP,

I have been inquiring about a Japanese's non folding straight razor. THere are some aspects of would like to consider before buying. What are the differing in stropping and honing. Also more importantly were would i acquire a decent razor?

Stropping is the same, you just have to adjust your grip

Honing however is pretty different, they are quite a bit harder to get set up correctly, and quite a bit easier to maintain once they are set correctly

I have a Vid of how to hone them in which I really tried very hard to NOT use all the Japanese terms to explain how it is done
