    Default Sad days.....

So I'm checking eBay this morning to see what has been listed recently. Aside from a lot of the seriously over-priced and unsalvageable ( with my skills anyway) razors. I found this Wade and Butcher and got sad. I know that whoever restored this, probably took a chipped blade and did what they could, but the lack of care for a piece of history from the previous owner saddens me.

I feel your pain but OTOH, if we could see what it was before the "restore" maybe we could appreciate the way it is now. I imagine for a shaver with a beard or a goatee it would be a handy razor.

I think this would look kinda cool with the scales shortened proportionally with the blade.

Agreed, and would make it much safer too, that razor can proably pop through the bottom of the scales as it sits now

I like the shorter look (both blade and scales). That is just neat looking...

And you can save money on narrower hones and strops too, although the shave will take twice as long.

You could offer him half off his price and see if he goes for it.
