Thanked: 0Novodur question
First and foremost hello everyone. New member nice site have a question for Filarmonica aficionado, sorry if another thread covers this. I just acquired a Fily Novodur but it doesn't have Jose Monserrat stamped under it. Wasn't really sure about as most I have seen have the name. Can this help me possibly date it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanked: 10Its hard to stablish the exact date, but I have learned from a friend in Spain who has a very nice collection of filarmonicas that the blades that have the *fabricacion espaņola* and *made in Spain* on the back of the blade are for sure made before the 1940īs, before the 40īs it was not mandatory for the company to put that legend on their blades. The blades that have this legends are made after the 1940īs. I have only one in mint condotion, like brand new and it has that legend on the back so I think mine was made on the 70īs or 80īs maybe

Thanked: 0Thanks. My wife sent it to be honed today and I had only taken the one pic so I can't even look it over lol. Guess I can't complain have a Mrs. That thinks it is sexy to shave with a straight and was only trying to help. Have you seen others without the Jose moniker?

Thanked: 10My mistake here, I meant that blades that DO NOT have that legend (fabricacion espaņola) on the back are made before the 1940īs. because it was not mandatory. Yes I have seen many blades without the Jose monserrat pou engraving. Mine says Doble Temple on the tang and Novodur on the blade and doesnt say jose monserrat. I really dont know what the difference is or why some of them have the name and others dont. What I know is only about the engraving on the back of the tang, that friend of mine is pretty knowledgeable, but I wish I could find some more information about it.

Those without the name Jose Monserrat Pou on the tang are made after Mr. Jose died, about the sixties.
