Thread: New Razor Shortage?

Hello Gentlemen,

So 2 weeks ago I was looking to buy a new razor, and I was undecided between a DOVO, Boker or a TI. However I was shocked by the amount of online stores that had all those razors out of stock. I had especially a hard time because the US based stores that did have some razors in stock, did not ship to Canada.
I finally was able to find a DOVO Bismarck in stock.

Is there a shortage of new razors, or is it mostly a marketing technique, because I have to say that I felt that I had to buy the Bismarck once I found one in stock (not that I regret it :P).

It is possible that there is supply and demand discrepancy.
There are many retailers that sell those brands and it is possible that the quantities that are stocked are not big, a factory can make only so many blades a month.

Cigars were nuts around 6 years ago. Production catches up or demand slows down. Plenty on srd and the classifieds as well.

Last time I looked there was plenty. But that was a while ago. Some post talked about a new solingen straight. Looks like its worth a looking at then if you gotta have new. AOS has new Dovos for 125.

Interesting... I'm finding that my usual web spots are mostly out of stock or back-order on Dovos, Bokers, and TIs. However, the following places still have a few DOVOs, TIs, and others in stock: classicshaving, royalshavehave.
