It depends how you define real or fake. The outfit that made Puma went under years ago. Someone else bought the Puma logo and is making the razors again. So if these are made by them it's genuine. As far as, are they as good as the original ones that's another question. I know Puma knives are inferior. Maybe someone who owns one of the newer ones will chime in. I haven't seen much in feedback on the new ones. if you want one you might just have to bite the bullet and be our guinea pig-har har.

The topic of new Pumas has come up before, and I seem to recall that opinions were good. I'll see if I can dig up the old thread....

    What thebigspendur said.

I have honed a fair few of them, and in terms of finish, metal, and edge they are not in the same league as Pums of long ago. Having said that, once the vagaries of the factory-finished edge have been taken care of (and they do need bevel re-setting) they shave OK. But only OK, in my opinion.

    Regards,
    Neil

Well, you'd have a hard time convincing any vintage Puma owner that a new specimen is better than a treasured vintage piece (including myself)

But then again there will always be fans and detractors....

Sorry - obviously a typo - I meant Pumas. And no, they aren't the same as the vintage ones - you only have to hold a new one next to a vintage one to see that we have lost a level of refinement that was taken for granted in the old days.

    Neil
