    Default New scales

    Well, I got this old razor from Jacketch (thank you very much!). The blade is in good shape, with a couple of blemishes from age. The scales were showing a lot of cracks and wear, and were even slightly curved to one side.

    So, I ordered a set of replacement scales and hardware from The Invisible Edge...I spent about 30 minutes polishing the razor and 10 minutes pinning it back together...and here is the result!

    Looks very nice. What kind of material are the scales made of? They look like wood but it's hard to tell what kind from the picture.

    American redwood. The first time I used it, a little stain came off from between the scales, but I think it was just residue as nothing else has come off.
