Thanked: 3Novel introduction
Hi. My name is Gord. I now live in Canada and have only recently discovered your website. About 50 years ago when I was 18 years old and living in Liverpool, England, I had to have an operation for a hernia. At that time it required a 3 week stay in hospital. It was on about the third day that a gentlemen appeared at the foot of my bed, hooked a strop on to my bed frame, stropped a straight razor and asked me to lower my PJs. After white knuckling through an amazingly smooth shave I told him that the shave was so smooth that I had to start using a "cut throat razor" as they were then called in Britain. On returning home, my Dad gave me his ivory handled Mappin & Webb and a Butler which I have used for the past 50 years. Until I discovered your website I had never met anyone else who used a straight razor so it was a pleasant surprise to find fellow users and enthusiasts out there. Regards to all. Gord

Welcome - both to SRP and to Canada!
Very happy that you found us, and I look forward to hearing about and learning from your experience with straights.
On a completely unrelated note - are you from the red half of Liverpool or the blue half? If the red, can you explain what the heck is up with Suarez?!?! (Sorry... I can't resist dragging footie into a conversation whenever I have even the slightest excuse.)
It was in original condition, faded red, well-worn, but nice.
This was and still is my favorite combination; beautiful, original, and worn.

Thanked: 3Hi. I went to very few matches as I was away rock climbing every weekend, (which is how I got my hernia in the first place.) My Dad was from the red half so I followed in his footsteps. Now how can I explain Suarez and when did footie become a carnivorous sport? I hope he gets the book thrown at him. If he was a dog he would be put down.
