Default Cased pair C1910 Joseph Rodgers - your opinions ?

    Won those 2 on eBay - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330074229429

Please .... don't ask me WHY. I'm a GEM guy but those 2 were such beauties ... I just couldn't resist. And they sure will look fine near my new brush .... And I'm sure I would like to try them .....

What is your opinion of Joseph Rodgers as a straights manufacturer ? And of this specific pair ?

Oh god ..... and how will I smuggle them past SWMBO ?

    Thanks
    Ben

    Welcome aboard!
They seem to be in great condition. You'd need to send them over to Lynn (adjustme69) or Joe (Joe Chandler) for honing. The manufacturer has a good reputation and I love Sheffield steel.
    Additional gear that you'll need:
    1) Hanging strop
    2) Pasted paddle strop or bench hone
Both can be obtained from Tony Miller (that's also his SRP nickname and I always forget the one on SMF lol). He offers reasonably priced top quality stuff with great service thrown into the mix.
On a good note you don't have to blow $100+ on other goodies (like a brush, soaps, creams, aftershaves etc etc etc).
As for smuggling this in women usually respond to two factors:
    1) Environmental (no blades to throw away)
    2) Practical (you don't have to buy any new blades)

I don't have these particular models but they are great shavers in general and many people like and collect them. The company had a royal appointment, after all.

    Cheers

That looks pretty sweet to me. Those are Sheffield steel if I'm not mistaken, so should make very good shavers.

    Hello Ben congratulations,

You must be the guy I let win those beauties. I must say they look to be very nice indeed. My interest in them was they come from my home town, which is a first I think. I had almost imagined a short drive to go and pick them up. She also had a nice Dovo up for sale to.
