Default To restore or not to restore??? That is the question...

Hi all, NewBee here and just wondering about tips on weather to restore a razor or not?? When buying on e-bay. Should the original patina be kept or polish and hone??? will it affect the value and so forth. Sorry if this type of question has been asked and answered before.
    Thanks.

It is up to you and your own opinion

Keep in mind what most people call Patina is rust

Patina is a Glossy Light Gray coating over the steel, if there are Dark spots, Black spots or Red spots it ain't Patina

I say if you can do it right, do it. If not, don't, or send it out. Or be willing to write it off...

I am quite confident in being able to restore on my own with out having to send out... Just wondering on value of vintage razors (restored vs. un-restored)

    Well that gets complicated,

See it depends on the actual condition before you start, it also depends on how you do the restoration, basically an impossible question to answer, which is why we stopped doing valuations on SRP many years back...
