I'd bet a thousand dollars to a donut it is rescaled. I've got a few Puma ducks and they all have Bresnick marked on the reverse tang. All but one have the Puma logo embedded in the scales, and the one is rescaled. Razors are rescaled all the time and some of the work is done so well that even if we could see the pivot pin up close it would be impossible to tell.

I am skeptical those are the original scales, were you able to find other references with pictures?
    Stefan,
No, but I've only searched here. I was going to post about it back when it was still active, but got side tracked and forgot about it until yesterday when I came across the pics.

    Hey Jimmy,

Those were my first, and current thoughts, but thought I'd see if anyone had ever heard of one before. Just curiosity. .

I think it is a rescale.

Those scales come from the Vesuvius Reaper, the precursor to the Grim Reaper. it's a rescale sure enough.

My vote is here too. Bresnick did some dealing in his day from what I have seen in my short study but he always had his name on it somewhere. I mean, that's what he did, put his name on it and sell it. Once again I am just a spert.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Not that it means anything, but I asked the seller (while auction was still active) if the pins were original. He said, " As far as I can tell the pins are, in fact original."

The key words there-"as far as I can tell".

Those are themed scales used on only one model.
