Dovo blade steel question
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if the steel in a Dovo Best Quality is different from the more expensive models (the Master's or the Flowing, for example).
I'm trying to decide if it's worth spending that much more money.
Am I paying for a better quality blade, or more for the etching and styling/nicer scales?
Thanks
Patrick

From what I understand, the steel is the same but the difference in price is in the etching, gold work, fancy scales, etc.

Thanked: 4249+1 for that statement, unless you figure in the Dovo Stainless, all others are carbon steel.

Fantastic! Thanks gents, that's what I needed to know. I can opt for the fancy ones some time in the future. Best Quality, here I come!

I have a Dovo Best Quality 6/8 1/2 hollow and it shaves great. It is my first and main razor. It may seem like a no-frills SR, but it performs very well.
Make sure to get it sharpened by a honemeister. You can take the boy out of NY, but you can't take NY out of the boy.

My understanding is they use Swedish Steel for all the Carbon models. It's just that they mention that fact for some and don't for others. That's to make you think it's special.
