Default What razors came with golf wash?

I don't really know the best way to research or investigate as google searches and forum searches have come us with very little.
I would like to know what razors came with gold wash? I have just finished re-plating the tang on a C-Mon Wedge and am really happy with the results. I figure why not hunt down other once gold beauties and keep practicing.

    Thanks for looking.

(I hope this is the right thread for such a topic. I do apologize if it isn't)

I've got a Ern, Dubl Duck & Dovo that has goldwash, but I'm sure that there are many more.

One thing I find interesting is I believe the plating was done to protect the pivot area from rusting, and bluing to a point affords some protection,Tho very little.
But how many do you see that were Plasma coated with a non-ferrous metal? The Geison & Forsthoff adoration is the only one I have seen.
    That was a brilliant Idea

I would suggest going to the razor clubs forums, checking out the many photos members have posted of various brands and you'll get an idea of which models originally came with gold wash. BTW, not sure if "gold wash" is a plated surface or another method ? IME gold wash is more fragile than plate and somewhat duller in appearance. I may be wrong ..... I was wrong once before.

Gold wash is purely a decorative process and provides no real protection of any kind and it's really fragile stuff. Real gold plate uses multiple metals in the process. Wash uses none. As was once explained to me by a plater, after the gold laden solution is about used up instead of discarding it they use the remainder for gold wash since it's such a thin, poor coating.

The number of razors that used gold wash was really huge. You could probably never run them down unless you had catalogs from every company.

I had a Geneva that had a nickel or chrome plated tang. It was still attacked by rust where the scales rubbed. Plasma coating may be more durable ?

Do not know much about the process in regards to razor applications, have had headers done on some track cars I used to run,but that was more for show than go.

Gold Wash is really not a common surface treatment. Gold Plate is the typical just as gold filled and rolled gold are way less common.
